Asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease that causes wheezing, chest tightness, and/or shortness of breath. These symptoms are caused by the constriction and inflammation of the airways which can make it difficult and at times impossible to freely breathe. There is no cure for asthma, but our providers are here to help manage your disease.

During your first visit you can expect the following:

  1. Evaluation - With your help our providers will evaluate your symptoms and medical history

  2. Testing - After evaluating your symptoms and concerns, we will the proceed to testing. This can include allergy skin testing, pulmonary function testing, methacholine challenge, nitric oxide testing, and in some cases we may also send you out for blood work.

  3. Treatment - Based on your test and/or lab results, our providers will create a personalized treatment plan. Treatment for asthma symptoms can include medications such as inhalers, and in more severe cases it can also include treatment with the use of biologics such as Xolair, Nucala, Fasenra or Dupixent.
